The Research and Information Division ensures the availability of accurate and reliable trade data to support the implementation of the overall trade agenda of government. The Ministry is also building a database to monitor price trends of specific items in the domestic markets so that mechanisms can be put in place to mitigate economically disruptive price triggers.

With all these well-designed and well managed divisions in the Ministry of Trade Industry, Private Sector Development (MOT PSD) and the President's Special Initiativi (PSI), there is no iota of doubt that Ghana'; trade sector meets international standards Additionally, it continues to contribute significantly to economic growth as well as employment generation.

In this direction, three model markets for district, municipal and metropolitan assemblies are being planned. Certain markets around the country will be established and some new ones will be constructed.
